This was interesting indeed. Whatever happened down there set the boy off. He could now see the difference of force reflections of each the shadow and the one called Merexa. What they were doing was still unclear but he knew anger when he felt it. And he could feel the force flowing through the boy, he had a good strength in it but not the greatest. He could be trained afterall but in what feild he did not know. At least not yet that is. He breathed in slowly and then let it out and continued his personal mental training.
The shadow increased its whispers and taunts. It fed from what was given to it openly and made its whispers all that more stronger. Even through the force choke that came from Merexa to no avail since there was no real target. But the anger coming from him now seemed to weaken the shadows pressence ever so slightly. The question now was...would the mind of this hopefull be sharp enough to make the connection. If he did, and found the way to beat this shadow and his own demons then his goal would be met.

And... nothing, his hand just passed through the shadow. Pulling it back, he watched the shadow for a few seconds, before whispers started to pass through his ear. "Failure..." "Traitor..." "You are weak, the light rejected you for it, and now you try to cling at the darkness for power." The shadows word's were probably to test him, but he did not react. They were probably generic questions, vague and would've been heard by oh so many Sith before him.
"It is true then, that siblings always have to depend on their elder brothers." Meraxa's eyebrow twitched slightly, it couldn't have- "Over a hundred generations of devoted Jedi from a single family, and the first instant the pecking order changes it all falls apart. Mother and Father must be so proud." No, no, no, it couldn't know- The shadow was beginning to take physical form, a four armed, clawed beast with Meraxa's face. "And when his beloved master cried in pain, all he could do was run like a cowa-"
"ENOUGH!" Meraxa yelled as he let out all his rage through his palm, and unleashed a force choke on the shadow - d**n it he didn't care if it didn't have lungs. "You are nothing but the creation of a sick, twisted joke that someone decided to call 'training'. You are nothing but a reflection in a broken mirror. You are nothing at all!" Meraxa began to squeeze, his anger willing him to crush that stupid shadow's neck - it was not a real solid to begin with, there should be no resistance.

Merexa found this harder to accomplish than he would have thought. The crystal still remained shrouded from his sight, and even slightly from his ability within the force. The feeling of the dark shadow grew and began to whisper into his ear. Whispers of failer, of weakness. Whispers designed to break ones focus and make one turn on their own mind to justify whatever desire made them be here. The shadow of the force became stronger and seemingly took a form. Almost human like but instead of two arms there were four. In the place of hands were claws. And it's face mimiced his own. Whispering still that he was worth nothing and that he did not belong here.
Ares smiled as his clarity on the sight through force began to improve. He also felt the pressence change itself when it began to test the young boy. This was good indeed for many reasons. Training this one may just in turn help him complete his own training in the darkside. Well in most areas of it. He continued to focus, to feel and understand what was happening. He began searching for the strong emotions of hate, rage, pride and lust that drove most sith. How would Merexa react to what this dark shadow of the force was doing?

Meraxa almost had the crystal in his grasp, when he was pushed back by the force. The crystal had disappeared into darkness. Great, mental test, just great. Not only that, but he needed the strength of the force on his side to get through this 'mist'. But thats what the Sith Mask was for. It amplified one's force abilities, and their connection to the force. In short, it was the thing that balanced his own failings. But regardless, right now he needed to focus. The force connected everything within this universe, and thus by connecting himself to it, he was also connected to everything within this universe, and subsequently the crystal. So all he had to do, was reach out, feel for the crystal, and attempt to grasp it, as he did.

Ares was a master by title but still had much to learn. He did not see with the force as he should. But he felt that Merexa had just made the first move. He felt determination in getting to his goal. That alone was a point in the boys favor. More to the point though, he felt the reaction of the dark power that was there in the sanctuary. This should prove to be most informative and interesting. Would the dark powers of the force win over the boy and deter him from his goal? Or would Merexa be able to face this darkness and obtain that which he sought? Both good questions that have yet to be answered.
So he waited and meditated on the force that flowed through this academy. Feeling what was happening, and still learning how to see through the force as a true master should. The shadow of force reacted harshly as Merexa reached out for the crystal. A wave of power pushed back at the young man and with it, the crystal became shrouded in a dark mist. It was clear this would be no easy task and that this shadow was stronger than Merexa was currently. So it would be a test of mind and will that would determine this test.

Meraxa looked around, there were hundreds if not thousands of the focusing crystals one would find typically in the core of a lightsaber. But that was not the only thing that was here. Now that he was directly in its presence, he could feel that the force he had felt earlier was not one, but many. Fractions, no shards of Sith that had come and gone before him. Of course the crystal before him would give him a red blade, they were generally mass produced in factories afterall - the Sith's way of efficiency over tradition, a direct contrast to the Jedi. There was also a kind of... shadow surrounding him. But there was nothing casting it, save for the force. But he did not care for such a thing, it was not hindering him, and nor would it ever. He wanted one of those crystals, to use them to create his own lightsaber - and nothing would stop him. He reached towards the nearest crystal, to take it as his own...

Ares smiled to himself as he felt what the darkside had awakened with his arrival to Korriban. The boy was doing well so far and now it seemed he had reached the main chamber of the lower sanctuary. Now, all of what had been learned would be tested. For in that sanctuary was a small portion of all the darkside force that had fed this place. Portions of each and every single true sith masters and apprentices had been added to this place. All to gaurd a single section of this academy. This sanctuary held focus crystals for lightsabers. Purposely built by the last great sith master to aid future sith in their quest to exterminate the jedi.
Merexa was faced with a shadow of the force. Standing in the center of a darkened sanctuary room. No words, no breathing and no motion did it make. Nor did it need to make such for the pressence was enough to give a clear idea of what it was here to do. Should Merexa manage to overcome such an obsitcal as a shadow and bring one of the last remaining crystals back with him he would be allowed to train. If not, another set of tasks will be set for him. So now Ares just focused on the force, on the two ebbs of life down in that sanctuary.

Meraxa was still slightly unnerved by the presence of such incredible force. It was dark, and it was old - yet he had never felt it before this day. Did that mean it was a holocron? Or something more? Maybe leaving the sword with the Sith Lord had been a bad idea afterall. Still, he couldn't turn back here - if it [i]was/i] a holocron, then he'd meet the hot end of a lightsaber if he didn't go and get it. He went further and further, avoiding trap after trap, until the corridors opened up into the lower sanctuary - something definitely felt different here.

He smiled softly as he finished with his meditations. He stood and began to practice battle moves, with the war sword he still held from the young man. Traps were easy enough for anyone that had been trained to any real level of force ability. But if not they came as a suprise and a deadly obsitcal if you did not react to them fast enough. He knew that there was a force where the young man would be, that was a presence of an older sith master. Something that would mess with his mind enough to really test him and his beleifs and strenght in the force.
Ares had been through something like that before. If this one made it back he would take him as an apprentice and begin the real training. firt would be finding what the boy would be the best at. So now he began to think of training, training that would reveal what the young man would be best suited for. That had been a simple matter with his own master training him. Ares was the best at figting and decent with force powers. He went through the motions with the war sword, knowing he didn't like single weapons too much but he could use them well. This was all he could do for the time being. So why not enjoy it and practice what he knew.
